Profile
After more than 39 years in the shipping business as Shipbroker, Trader and Team Manager I am now working as an Expert Witness and Maritime Consultant. I have experience in tankers, but most of my career has been in dry cargo, specialising in the sugar trade especially the transport of bagged sugar.
I attended many training courses on management and the development of employees and mentoring is a particular interest of mine. Part of my management role was to interview, train and develop the team and I believe I have a good reputation in the market, reflecting my success in this field. As a
result, I have been lecturing for Clarksons and the Cambridge Academy as well as with METL in dry cargo. I have undertaken various training in expert witness, mediation, arbitration and a maritime law course.
Off duty
I am keen volunteer at Sports events like London 2012 as a ‘Gamesmaker’, volunteer supervisor Aegon Surbiton Open Tennis,
International Hockey, Sailor’s Society 3 Peaks challenges and Prudential Ride London.
I play and participate in sport and enjoy travel, theatre and music, exhibitions, gardening and socialising with family and friends.
Fellow of the Royal Geographical Society.
